UI Installation and Administration

 

There are several steps involved in configuring UI, some apply to both UI desktop and UI web, and others only to one flavor. First the user account must have a UWSTOUT-MAIL domain account.  Second the domain user must be logged into his or her computer with administrative rights.  The reason for these requirements are Datatel access will be authenticated off the UWSTOUT-MAIL domain and the user must install software to their local machine. 

 

Now that we are UI 2.2, there are 2 basic ways to install the client:

  1. If they already have the 2.1 client installed, run \\tis43\uiinstall\datatel22update.exe to uninstall the 2.1 client and install the 2.2 client.
  2. If they do not already have the client installed, run \\tis43\uiinstall\UI2.2MSI\UIDesktop220msi.msi to install the 2.2 client.

 

If you receive the following error:

 

Never Found the Login Prompt

 

Simply click on 'Try Again' until you get connected.

 

You may receive a secure connection error:

 

U2SSL error

 

Click on 'Yes' and get connected. Once in UI, go to Options -> Add/Remove Databases, remove COLLIVE, and re-add COLLIVE to correct the problem.
